C & C Metal Products is pleased to provide the information below which states material content levels that comply with local and regional regulations set by the CPSC, RoHS, REACH and Guobiao in the Americas, Asia and Europe. We update this information on a regular basis to provide assurances to our customers that our metal components, and therefore their finished products, can meet requirements as dictated by all applicable governing agencies.
The information on this sheet is valid for purchases made as of August 1st, 2011. The information is not valid on purchases made from inventory that were manufactured prior to August 1st, 2011.
According to the American Society of Testing & Manufacturing (ASTM), an independent and international standards development organization, the following maximum percentage of elements in the materials used in manufacturing our products are as follows:
The Steel we use contains no significant trace elements of lead – 100% completely lead free for all intents and purposes.
The Zinc we use for our castings (ZN-3) may contain a maximum of 0.004 % lead content (40 ppm). It should be noted that on recent test certifications done on our shipments, the lead content was 0.0015% (15 ppm) on one lot, and 0.0016% (16 ppm) on a second lot. (this would be more typical of our zinc shipments).
The Brass Strip we use identified as 230; classified as red brass, and brass strip identified as 260; classified as yellow brass, both contain a maximum of .01% (100 ppm) lead content.
The Brass Wire we use has a maximum allowable lead content 100 ppm; however recent shipments have been tested at less than 10 ppm. (This would be more typical of our Brass wire shipments).
The Copper Anodes & Nickel Anodes used in plating copper & nickel are 99.999% pure copper & nickel. Therefore their can only be a maximum amount of trace elements (not necessarily lead) of 0.001% (10 ppm).
The Brass Anodes used in plating brass contain no significant trace elements of lead. There is a maximum allowable content of 0.02 ppm (less than 1 ppm) trace elements of lead.
The Gold used in plating some of our finishes contains a maximum 0.000073% (less than 1 ppm) trace elements of lead.
The Clear Lacquer used to coat some of our finishes contain no significant trace elements of lead – 100% lead free for all intents and purposes.
The agents we use to darken specific metal finishes, including Blacks, Bronzes and Colonials are lead free.
There is no lead added or in any of the constituents which comprise the All Black 400 used in the Colonial Nickel finish.
There is no lead added or in any of the constituents which comprise the Tin Immersion #1 used in our Nickel Free finishes.
Any Paint and or Antique Lacquer we use in coating our products are lead free.
